Green anole (Anolis carolinensis) every day on the ground

Hello,
I've been keeping green anoles for 4-5 years, and now I run into a little problem I can't resolve. I have 1 male and 2 females. I got the male for a year now. He has a really good health, he looks strong, and is green all the time.
The problem is with my females. When I got them in June, their colours were pretty good, greenish-brown most of the time.
Since then, one of them has laid 6 eggs also. But in end august, the one who laid the eggs, began being too much on the ground, and also being brown, the whole time (in the evening, he goes to a lower leaf, and sleeps there). She is not sick, (sadly, two anoles died here some years ago of sickness), and she eats too. I do not know, what to do with her. Do you have any idea?

When females lay eggs, they need more calcium because the eggs absorve much more of it. Have you been giving more calcium to your females?

Well, I've tried to, but because they mostly eat houseflies in the summer, I didn't really get the opportunity, to powder them. You may be right, because its the same female who laid the eggs. Thank you for your helP!

Yes I do, I catch the flies with hand in the house, and then give it to them. They love it. The male is CB for sure, I don't know about the females, I bought them in a pet store, which sells CB and WC also, forgot to ask.

That was a HUGE mistake you made. 1. the flies could carry parasites or pesticides, which now infected your anoles, 2. you weren't able to provide the proper amount of food and supplements your anoles need and 3. they probably have poor nutritional values (comparing with crickets or roaches). NEVER EVER FEED YOUR ANIMALS WC INSECTS, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY CARRY. Go to a vet for fecal exams. Next time buy roaches or crickets for them. Read a caresheet for their needs. They really need calcium right now. Did you even provide UVB?

Well, the problem is, that they don't really eat anything except flies. I've tried feeding them mealworms, crickets, but they are not looking at them...
But I will try feeding them different things.
Oh yeah and they get UVB (exo-terra lamp)

Flies are also being bred. You can find some in pet stores AND always make sure you dust them properly. The females need more calcium. I don't know more about your female's problem. It's probably MBD or something.

You can breed M Hydei, a flightless larger fruit fly, they can be propagated easily and dusted with a good vitamin/mineral supplement when you feed. It should make a big difference plus you know the origins of the food you are feeding them.
Also if you tried crickets make sure they are smaller, half grown at most, they also can be dusted with supplement

I will search for bred flies, hopefully I will find them nearby. About the fruitflies, I think you have ment Drosophila Hydei. Thats not a good idea, because they should eat a hundred of them, before they have had enough. Just now I gave them some crickets, they are not interested yet.

Females need calcium after being bred and laying eggs. Also, I only feed anoles flies as treats, as they can carry so many things. Were they raised on flies? If so, DEFINATELY feed something man-bred, that you can be sure doesn't have diseases. :) good luck!
