Greetings Ben.
Interestingly enough, a few researchers in the scientific community have taken an interest in the incubation temperature verse color topic and have performed good scientific studies. These studies have been published in peer reviewed scientific journals. Check out these authors (Haung, Crews, and Viets) and their papers if you can. They describe the effect of incubation temperature on color in leopard geckos.
After studying their work I have done some trials with incubation temperatures and found that it does not play a role in color with
Phelsuma grandis.
By the way, anyone with the screen name “Phelsumaman” is very cool in my book. I hope we get to meet to talk geckos at some point. Let me know if you ever find yourself in South Florida and I will give you a tour of my place.
If you want to check out the recent article in REPTILES Magazine about
Phelsuma grandis it is now free online at:

All the best and stay in touch, Jon
