A few years ago i bought a monsoon 400 and had nothing but problems with it. Hagen kept sending me new ones and the same thing kept happening. Basically the timer would randomly come on and spray when it wanted to. I cant remember how many units hagen has replaced for me but i bet its around 6. So the other day it started messing up again. This time i went to home depot and bought a digital programable timer that can be set to the minute for like 15 bucks. So now i have it programmed to come on a couple times a day. As for now the time that it sprays still works on the unit so i can set it to spray for like 20 seconds then the timer times out in one minute and the power is shut off to the unit. If the unit fails to shut off it can only spray for one minute and not flood my terrarium. Seems with my monsoon 400 the problem is in the timer that sets how often the unit will come on and not the spray duration timer. Anyways just though i would throw this out there to those who have one and still are having problems with it. I bought this basically for when im not home and now i can feel confident i wont come home to a flooded terrarium.
