Yesterday at work all I could think about was geckos. I had a friend texting me about geckos. Geckos geckos geckos. I went to pick up a pallet and sure enough a little gecko went running across the warehouse floor!! I almost squashed it.

Stashed it in a coffee cup and brought it home last night. It is from Alabama!! We were destroying materials that had just come in from Alabama when I found it.

Hemidactylus turcicus - Mediterranean house gecko that is firmly established in the southern USA.

They established themselves. They're not native. You could actually get in a lot of trouble for releasing a non-native animal. I'm sure Georgia is just as crazy as Florida with those laws. (for good reason too)
