Hi guys,
on the same day today I got my first egg from golden and white line gecko but my question is they eat their young ? Or it's like gecko tokay, because I don't find this useful information.

Thanks

Hello:
I bred Skunk Geckos (white-Lines) on three separate occasions in the nineties. All eggs were left in situ ans when they hatched I never saw the adults mess with the juvies. I removed the babies to raise them separately. I'm sure they occasionally are capable of attacking and killing the babies, I just have not witnessed it myself.
Have a great Day!!!

G badenii (= G. ulikovskii) do eat their young, while G. vittatus do protect their offspring.

Depending on what you plan to do with the golden gecko hatchlings, I prefer to just move the adults to a fresh enclosure prior to the eggs hatching.

This time I gently remove the eggs because they were laid in a cork bark, but next time I think I'll do as you say and change the gecko to another terrarium instead.

I need a confirmation, it was told to me before that Gekko Badenii ate there hatching. Until now, I had separated parents from eggs. Recently I had another pair of egg and I decided to leave the eggs for the first month to see the behavior of parents. To my surprise I caught the male incubate the eggs as tokay do ... Is it possible that some of the golden gecko care for their offspring? Or they will just take care of eggs as do tokay and make a breakfast after :p

Thanks

Golden geckos will, without a doubt, no question about it, eat their own young.

In my experience it is easier to remove the adults to another enclosure prior to the eggs hatching, alternatively you can deli cup the eggs to make collecting the hatchlings easier.

If you try the deli cup method I believe you will be able to witness the adults trying to get at the hatchlings, this to me coupled with the loss of my first hatchlings was enough proof for me that I should not keep soon to hatch eggs and adults together.

Have only experience with vittatus, we usualy place a deli cup over the eggs but twoo times now it happened that a young got out and both of the times we found the mother verry fiercly protecting their young against anything that came close to it, including dad and my hand... :D

Yes White-Lined gecko hatchlings are fine to leave in for around four months or so, after that the adult male with start in on the young males. Golden geckos are not nearly as kind.
