Just got my first 2 cresties today and they are soooo cute!
they are both about 2 1/2 inches long
one is a dalmation with (pinstripe?) some other morph
the other one is a chevron
I currently have them in a 10 gallon terrarium, witch is temporary until I fell that they are big enough to be bolth housed in my 45 terrarium:biggrin:

Oh and my question is
Whast is there age? can you determine the age by their size?

Oh and I will post pics and a video later of them:biggrin:

hello and welcome.

you can't determine age by size, reliably. they grow at variable rates.

please use caution in housing them together before they reach maturity. they can breed too early (if you have a pair) and can also fight (especially if you end up with two males).

I look forward to pictures!

I know each individual grows differently but at what age is their average size?
at about how old do they reach sexual maturity?

There are so many factors that affect overall weight/size and growth rates, so there really is no definitive answer to what you're looking for.

In general, cresties on average reach between 30-60g when they're full grown, and sexual maturity anywhere from about 18 months to 2 years. Sexual maturity is determined more by body size/mass than an actual age, however, so if it's important to know for breeding purposes, it's generally advised to wait until the female is around 35g before breeding, even if it takes longer than 2 years to do so.

Some geckos take years to reach 30g+, others can do it within the first year. I have one female who was 40g at 11 months old, but she wasn't full grown and I definitely wouldn't breed her at that age.

I probably wont be breeding this pair;-)

I just handfed one of them a little bit of banana and it loved it!
I didn't offer it to the other crestie because it was in the middle if shedding
