Tips for administering oral meds to a leo?

Thanks for your update on Brandon's progress! Nice to hear that he is under vet care too.

Have you any reptile shows nearby? That is an excellent place to pick up some small hornworms (1.5 inches and less) and avoid the shipping costs. Check the Hornworm Guidelines for specifics.

The nearest reptile show I have any chance of making it to is several hours away. They seem to have one every few months, and we might be up in that area anyway in July, so we'll see what happens. In the meantime, I am thinking of ordering some dubia for variety. I'm pretty sure the boys will both eat them, but not sure about my princess of a girl leo.

On the vet part... I don't think this could have been resolved without veterinary care. Brandon needed antibiotics; warm soaks and improved husbandry was only going to help so much.

Yes, the antibiotics and vet assistance were paramount to Brandon's recovery.

Who knows how accurate the charts are that list nutrient values for prey? There are sooo many variables! Roaches have been reported to be higher in protein than geckos require, so dubia as variety sounds good...just NOT as a staple.

Hornworms grow very quickly when kept at warm temperatures.
