Hey guys! Just having a little fun here... What flavor of fruit baby food does your Rhacodactylus Ciliatus prefer? How much does your gecko weigh? (Or age)
Mine likes bananas and peach best... She's 26.7 grams

CrestedRick-
I dont mix the babyfood and CGD-
Her feeding schedule and variety is as listed:

1X Week- Gut loaded and calcium dusted large crickets (about 10)
4X Week- Repashy CGD 3.0
2X Week- All organic friut variety babyfood

I dont have many friends who enjoy reptiles as much as I do... GU is the only place I get to enjoy my intrest extencivly with other people! I see 34 have looked at this thread... REPLY PEOPLE!

About 95% of people Ive talked to say stay away from Baby food because it can be very addictive to the cresties due to its sweetness and that may turn into them only wanting to eat the baby food. They also say the nutritional value of baby food is no where near the needs of cresties but I see you do incorporate CGD. So she continuously has food in her tank?

I don't use baby food at all. I use CGD 3.0 which I change every 48 hours or sooner. I also offer Dubia roaches in a small deli cup 24/7 and I occasionally offer crickets as a treat.

I have been considering buying some of the flavored CGD however my Crested eats with gusto so I'm hesitant to switch anything up at the moment.

Its funny that you mention the addiction of sugars... it was a worrie of mine when I first got my Crestie... funny thing is though is that she like the CGD 3.0 MUCH better than the babyfood... she'll eat a good amount of the bbyfood... but she WAXES the CGD clean!! I also use an all organic brand.. no additives- when you look at the ingredients all it says is "mashed bananas" or "mashed peaches"... however, because of this it does go bad very fast.. I freeze portions in a cilicone water bottle ice cube tray! works great!

I do overall offer fresh food daily... sometimes if I have a busy week, she'll go one or two nights without, but isnt too big of a deal

SMCNEARN- how does your crested take to dubia roaches? are they fast moving enough for them to see it? any compaction issues with the harder exo skelleton?

Iv had no issues with compaction, I feed prey items that are the regular old "large as the space between its eyes" As for movement. Dubia really don't run around a lot, but if you put them in a smooth sided deli cup or glass dish your gecko will likely find them like mine did.

I usually remove CGD 3 every 36hrs and feed every 2-3 days depending onthe season such as winter feedings were spread out more since they are less active and summer is more often.

I don't do baby food, but will give them pieces of over-ripe fruit once in a while. They really like mango and persimmon... I feed my cgd every 3-4 days depending on my availability to feed... the fruit is just left there in addition to it. I don't do bugs since they don't seem to much care for them.
