Leo Diagnosis please??

So my friend owned 2 female leopard geckos, but apparently a few months ago they both stopped eating. One of the ladies died a few days ago and so I've taken the other off his hands.

The thing is I can't really afford to take her to a vet, which is awful I know, but if it turns out that it is life threatening I will pass her on to someone more able (if I can find anyone that is).

At first I thought that it might be impaction but I've been told that there was no loose substrate or matter in the vivs for the leo's to have ingested.

She's got quite a skinny tail and a swollen belly, completely uninterested in food and her back legs seem to have trouble moving. When I hold her she is very quiet, which isn't her usual temprement as I've held her back when she was healthy and she was a lot more active.

I've given her a long warm bath and massaged her belly and given her a few drops of olive oil to help things along if it is impaction, but I just need some ideas and tips as to what it could be? Or if there is a way to determine if the leo has parasites without a vet?

I can post pictures if it helps things. Thanks :)

Hi,

Only a vet during an examination can provide an 100% accurate diagnosis. It's really not a good idea to just start giving olive oil just because her back legs and not functioning properly. For example, if she is suffering from MBD. What she needs is proper diet and supplementation. The oil can block the nutrients from absorbing making the situation worse. We can only help you make her comfortable informing you on how to provide proper husbandry. Depending on the actual problem itself, it may or may not help.

Please fill out this questionnaire and provide pictures of the gecko and enclosure.

A fecal examination at a vet is actually really cheap!!! Please consider getting her to a vet with a fresh fecal sample, it will save her life. Definetely fill out the questionaire and provide pictures of this leo.

If I can't find out what's wrong with her in the next few days I will definitely be passing her on to someone who can afford the vet, it's just the last time we visited the vet with my leo they charged us £40 just to look at him!
Here are some pictures of her from yesterday:

To be honest there is no point in me giving you housing recommendations without a vet exam and fecal. This gecko needs a vet asap. What you have stated below cannot be evaluated and treated at home.

Change in the droppings: the feces she has passed have been watery and very small
Urates
---white or yellowish: yellowish and very watery

If you have to pass her to someone, please have them look at Elizabeth's caresheet.

Okay, I think what I need is to pass her onto someone else who can take her to the vet. Thankyou all for your help :)

You must at least provide proper temperatures to give her immune system a chance. Without it she will decline much faster.

88-93 F (31-34 C) ground temp at warm end inside the warm dry hide
no greater than 85 F (29.5 C) air temp - 4 inches above ground on the warm end
no greater than 75 F (24.5 C) air temp - 4 inches above ground on the cool end

Leave the UTH on 24/7. Can turn off overhead heating at night.

Do continue to search for someone who can afford vet care, but if you can take a picture of her feces and post it, please do so.
