Zoo Med Moss

I am new an don't know much about all this . I bought some zoo Med Terrarium Moss an covered the bottom with it after soaking it . Long story short the whole house smelled like dirt my wife has birds an did not like it . What else could I use ? The temp gets around 80 so how can I keep it cool . I really need help I did not get a crestie yet I want to have the set up

I just use paper towel. It's safer, cleaner and doesn't smell.

I mix coco fiber, moss and wood shavings. It works well, is aesthetically pleasing, and holds humidity great.
