Divided Tank

Hello. I currently have one crested gecko and would really like to get another. My current is a male and has gorgeous coloring that I may like to breed some day, and I have found an equally beautiful female, but I come across a problem; I am neither ready nor willing to breed geckos yet. I was considering, in lieu of getting another tank, to buy a big one and simply divide it. That way it would all be one tank, and they could see each other without reproducing.

Is this possible and is it humane?

Thanks!

It is possible. Humane??? I suppose it is like seeing someone of the opposite sex and not being able to make an attempt at reproducing...I think you get the point.
Most breeders, at one time or another, have kept males and females in separate cages without visual barriers and have no issues. If you are worried about the visual impact, just use an opaque barrier. There may still be pheromones at play, but I suspect it would be just like having that person that you want to connect with, be unattainable.

Honestly, I've come across plenty of threads about dividing large tanks across many species. From what I've gathered, even when the most attention to detail and craftsmanship is employed, eventually they find their way across the divider.

Listen, i had a 20g tank and divided it in half with a piece of cut plexiglass and that worked fine, i only upgraded to 2 18-18-24 exos becuase I wanted to make a natural viv other than that I dont see a problem dividing the tank while they are juvies.
