Vivarium Plants Help

Are there any "plant guys" that can give me some good plant ideas for a crested gecko viv. Some plants will be off the ground, and i am also looking to grow some moss.

google "non toxic terrarium plants" and you'll get a few lists. then just go to a plant shop or hardware store and see what you can find :)

the snake plants are good for them, as are the pothos, as they are hardy. I also use some plants that look like flimsy bromeliads (sp?) but they grow taller and more of a crown look to them... sorry I don;t know what they are called...

Thanks for the advice. Not to bother you with more questions, but is hydroton balls with Eco earth on top a ok substrate?

Peperomias, snake plants, pothos. I use all three types in my tanks. The pothos can be trained to climb the walls and look really good! Check out my thread "it starts, new vivarium" to see how they look and get some ideas!

hyrdroton balls, then a layer of hardware cloth, then 'dirt'
eco earth is good. I personally use a blend of organic potting soil and ~25% peat moss or coir fiber as substrate.

I use this stuff called LDL its much lighter than hydro balls, its made from recycled glass and weighs about as much as a big box of cereal. For substrate my herp people use charcoal pieces, coco fiber, milled fir orchard bark, milled tree fern fiber and new zealand sphagnum moss.

Thanks for the help, it seems they have a great vivarium 101 guide and everything. Have you used their substrates or just the abg and leca?

I have the mixture they make in both my vivs, and those viv guides are great! Everything i have is from them including my cresteds.
