My leopard gecko started making noises?

Hi my leopard gecko started making noises about 2 days ago, when she's in her warm hide she would make a noise like a squeal or bark you know the noise which they make. She's about 2 months old had her for 1 week 6 days. I'm not sure why she's making these noises. Any Ideas? :?

usually they bark for just a few reasons:

-calling for mates (not going to be the case here)

-territorial/defensive barking. I'm guessing this will be the case. she probably sees you as a predator and is trying to frighten you away.

I don't think she was trying to frighten me off, she's in her warm hide (which faces away from me) when I hear her and she's used to me. But I'm not that worried because she doesn't do it often, in the last 2 days I heard her she bark maybe 2x a day or so. So yea maybe that's just her personality :lol:

Hmmm I guess you got me there but just weird that she would start making noises now you know? 1 week 4 days hadn't made any noise but now she is. But yea maybe she's still settling in :lol: Thanks for your help !!

she's relaxing enough to vocalize, but still nervous, would be my guess.

Was she shedding when you heard the noise? They can make that noise when shedding, especially when they have to bend their body to pull shed off their back, legs, and tail.

Nope ain't shedding and they vocalize? like practice singing? haha :lol:

Hatchlings can bark at shadows, they're that skittish.
