Pictus questions

Firstly, I apologize for the length of this post. I got a pictus gecko about a week ago and am still doing a ton of research. I received her (I think it is a girl) as a gift so I didn't get to talk to the store associates. I don't know her age, but I'm assuming she isn't a juvenile. She's probably 4-5 inches long. I have her in a 10 gallon tank with a moist hide and a dry hide. There is a water dish, a hanging fake plant (that she can also hide behind), a jar with moist paper towel (to serve as a humidifier), and some barkless sticks. The substrate is a sort of mulch-dirt. I have sphagnum moss in the moist hide and hidden under the substrate to keep it humid inside. I have it under the substrate in an attempt to avoid her ingesting the sphagnum. I have ceramic dome lights. I've been keeping both colors on during the day to keep it as warm as possible because my house is cold. My thermometer is reading 84-88 during the day and 71-74 at night. The humidity ranges from 40-80, depending on how long it has been since I have sprayed. I know that there is supposed to be a range in temperature in the tank so I have the lights resting over one side. I'm worried that it gets too cold at night. She has eaten well since I've gotten her, but I haven't seen her poop and I haven't found any. Is it likely that she isn't digesting because of the cool temperature or are there other possibilities?

Good idea. I checked there today, but no luck. I also bought a heating pad today to warm up her favorite hide so that maybe she'll start digesting better? I've read that a warm, shallow bath and gently rubbing their bellies sometimes works so I might try that. Any recommendations?

It sounds like your care is ok, I have a couple who really hide their poo, sometimes you have to really search for it!

That could definitely be what's going on. She really likes to dig. If I can't find anything in the next couple of days, I'm going to try giving her a warm bath.

I agree with the advise to look for the "poop" in the moist hide. My picta just love to leave me presents in their food dish and water dish....oy vey! A entire tank and I swear they like to leave the "poop" as an exchange for the food they took !
