have an exo terra medium low that came with the Styrofoam rock backround. having read the negative reviews about it..primarily crickets getting behind it ect, and also found that it cut into the floor space of the enclosure, I need another backround solution. I purchased self adhesive faux slate tiles at home depot for a buck apiece. The back of the tank is 24x12 and the tiles are 12x12..so two tiles with a little trimming do the trick. Look great and natural and no issues. I know this aren't the best option for substrates, especially on the hot side with a UTH, but for the back of the tank, should be fine I'd think.
