Phelsuma grandis. Something is stuck in mouth?

Just noticed this afternoon a blackish lump inside his mouth. I did not see it this morning...
I made a vet appointment just in case.

Mouth rot?
He is kept in a large vivarium basking 32c ambient 26-27... Eats crickets with calcium and D3, and giant day gecko diet when he is in the mood. He lives on his own.

Lighting is good. He is in a room with a 1000 watt metal halide (my orchid room), but his tank is off to the side and has a basking lamp...



Any thoughts?

Well after an afternoon of PMG licking his lips whatever was there is gone. I kept giving him honey maybe it helped dislodge whatever was stuck there. I guess I'll cancel that vet appointment. Lol

Yeah this can sometimes happen. Usually it's not something to worry about, but if it happens and persists, then you will want to see a vet.
