hey guys quick question. just set up a new 10 gallon vertical for my tokay hatchlings with a conversion kit from jungle box. since it has a glass top instead of a screen i will not be able too run a CHE ON THE TOP. so i have a 10-20 gallon heat mat but wondering where i should place it. do you think since it will cover almost the etire bottom of the tank it should create enough heat inside with there only being a screen rectangle about 7inchesx3in. this will def help keep my humidity up as well cant wait! but yeah need help where too place the pad. thx guys

I always do heat mats for geckos in a set of two, covering the upper back left corner of the tank, which I usually surround with hides and vegetation so it's a nice, safe, warm basking spot.

Or, you can put under the tank which works very well, especially if you want it to help dry out the wet substrate and increase humidity.
