Nervous about handling gecko

I've had my gecko for 3 months. I started putting my hand in the cage and letting him check it out about 2 months ago, but life got in the way and I had to stop handling for a while. Now that I'm able to try again I'm nervous that he'll be too jumpy to handle. How do I tame him so we can both be calm when I try to handle him?

Many gecko owners don't handle their geckos.

However, if you want to maybe try letting your gecko get used to your hand, eventually your gecko should get used to your hand then get onto it, then handle it OVER the cage at a small height, and gradually take your gecko out of the tank after at least a week of handling over the tank and make sure you hold it over you lap because if the jump, which they do then it wont hurt itself.

I agree, I personally don't handle my gecko and I've had him for about 7 months. he's tame and tolerates my hand and sometimes will climb into my palm just to cross over from point A to point B but my feeling is that they really would prefer not to be handled
