Hi, my prize male (who is a better breeder than he can handle) recently got in over his head and decided to invade another male's enclosure, thinking he was a female, when I wasn't paying enough attention. The other male has since been re-homed, and my prize male put in quarantine.
In the brawl, he lost his tail (I think the other male ate it)
It is growing back nice and quick, and I actually so far prefer it to his previous tail.
The problem is, it's got some weird skin on the end of it that I believe is constricting his new tail.
At first it was a thick lawyer of skin that resembled the glaze on a cinnamon roll, and I though tit would go away after he shed. Well he shed that night (last night) and when I took him out this morning, it was still like that. So i removed the glaze-like layer without much difficulty, and under it was another layer (or so I think) and this one is almost the same as his actual new tail skin. I figure it's just a bit lighter because he just shed and this skin was covered when he did, but I'm still worried that it could be constricting his new tail.
He's my prize male, and I am planning on using him for an eclipse project in a couple weeks, so it would be a shame if his freshly regrown tail suddenly lost circulation and fell off again, and led to him having to be quarantined for longer.
Here's a couple pictures, one of the tail before I removed the glaze-like layer, and one of him now.

I also am just hoping that this doesn't cause health problems, cause he's always been so healthy and happy, I hope he's not in pain.
