Eating issue please give advice!

I have a leopard gecko and have had him for about a year. I usually feed him live mealworms. So for the past few months he doesn't seem to be eating, when I clean the tank all the worms are just roaming around. But he appears to be a healthy weight. I attached pictures of Wizzy so do you think he looks healthy? What do you think I should do about the food situation.

Nice looking gecko. It looks like he is starting to lose weight - his tail appears slimmer than ideal.

Have you tried crickets or other types of worms (Phoenix, Silk or Horn)? One of mine went on a substantial hunger strike from mealworms. Once we started offering crickets and Phoenix worms she started eating and picking up weight again.

Cheers, K

His tail looks okay from this angle, although his husbandry needs some work which is likely the cause of his lost of appetite. The enclosure is too small for a proper temperature range and I don't see any thermometers or probes controlling temperatures? Please take a look at the caresheet for guidance.

io and buckmark 026.jpgI totally have had that issue as my geckos are all big with perhaps a little too much weight for some. Anyway--they all have had weeks going into months when the appetite slows way down, especially the females during the breeding season--even when not breeding. In fact breeding one of my females has stimulated her into eating big every day with big poop daily. Here is her picture--this is Buckmark. My website shows her and my other breeders. supergiantleopardgecko.com I have bred her to Judge. Let us know what happens kimwal
