Avoiding a Heavy Load of Parasites

Hey all, I'm reading a book about prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of parasites. I came across some interesting facts:

1. Crypto currently affects 30-50% of leopard geckos
2. Cleaning up poop often goes a long way to preventing parasites from breeding in your enclosure
3. Parasites can be transmitted by fecal matter touching prey or water... crickets often ingest fecal matter in search for nutrients and hydration.
4. Recycling food items and not cleaning hides, water bowls, etc can allow a bad parasite continue to infect your gecko. So if the situation is bad enough that the gecko is in a quarentine tank, the food leftover in the original tank should not be transferred to the quarentine tank. Hides should be sterilized before placing in the quarentine tank. Wash your hands when dealing with a possibly contaminated enclosure and your quarentine.

Just thought I would share these tips with anyone having an issue with parasites!
