Baby alert

I was just about to get into bed, when my wife screamed.
I came running and she was just pointing on a small "thing" on the wall...
Looking closer ready to smash any bigger insect that might be there I just found a crested baby.
Now I wonder:
My females havent seen any male for 2 years now and I havent seen or found any eggs.

Can anyone tell me how long Cresties lay fertile eggs after having mated?

Pics will follow

To my knowledge I thought it was normal for them to lay for about 8 months after mating. But 2 years is a long time to retain viable sperm. I've never bred my pair so hopefully some one with more experience can chime in. Anyways just glad you didn't smash the little guy!

Eh a few leachies have reproduced by parthenogenesis. It's possible, but I'd lay money on retained sperm.

Are you 100% sure of your geckos' genders, and sexual history? Have you had them the whole time for these 2 years?

20140811_102746.jpgWell I seperated them on the 1st of January 2013 after New Years Eve...
And yes I definetly keep males and females seperated. Or can it happen that a male hasnt got preanal pores nor the bulbs.
But 22 months do seel a long time for being still fertile or not?
