A few questions regarding klemmeri using bamboo

I have 2 inch in diameter bamboo poles that I plan to cut half inch slits so the klemmeri can go in and out of the pole, will this half inch slit be enough space for them to go in and out? If not, what size slit do you recommend me cutting on a 2 inch diameter bamboo pole? Also, will the klemmeri poop inside the poles? If they will I wont make holes for them then!

A half inch slit is plenty wide for a Phelsuma klemmeri. Hatchlings can get in and out of enclosures and the slots of critter keeper lids. I have even had young adult females escape critter keepers, even after plugging the holes where the handles were originally. They will poop anywhere they want to, but do not find it problematic inside hollows. You can always clean out with a jet of water from a mister, but they usually poop on the glass or plants, sometimes even having spots where they defecate more frequently than other places. They can squeeze through very small gaps, so I imagine an adult even utilizing 3/16"+ cracks. Supply some different options and see what works and what they utilize. You will enjoy seeing them move in and out of bamboo.
