Good Evening Fellow Herpers!
I continue to search for a Paroedura sp (unidentified) Male. I have a Female; however, I am having a very difficult time finding a Male.
Many times they are misidentified as Paroedura bastardi (Large Form). Although the patterning is somewhat similar...there are definite differences.
The P. bastardi adults weigh in at under 10 grams; whereas, the P. sp adults weigh in at 20+ grams.
Unfortunately, both a collector / hobbyist and myself thought he had a male sp but it turned out to be a Male bastardi!!
So, I continue to look. In 2012 there was an influx of these guys from Madagascar and research was done on them, establishing that they were directly related to P. bastardi, P. tanjaka and P. ibityensis.
If anyone knows where I can find a Paroedura sp (unidentified) Male, please advise me at kimo2211@comcast.net, as I have a healthy Female who needs a mate.
Have A Good One, jim
