Feces sample

Looks like good news and bad news. The good news is that it appears my Pongo has eaten. There was a feces this morning. This is good because it appears he is eating. However, I also saw this, apparently, regurgitated cricket as well.

The poo looks normal and sometimes younglings regurgitate food, for example if they haven't eaten for a while and then suddenly overeat. As long as the throwing up isn't a regular thing, I wouldn't worry too much about it :3 I watched my youngest regurgitate an entire cricket once but later that day, she ate without problems!

What kind of feeders are you offering?

Thanks "majahawt". I have only had my leopard gecko for about 23 days. He hasn't eaten at all since I've had him. Last night was the first night. I have had a small dish of mealworms available since day 1 but he has not eaten any of them. He went through a weird shed about a week ago. Everything shed except for his head. I helped a bit and I was able to get most off the top of the head and eyes. There was just a strand about an inch long that was still attached near the snout. I didn't want to just pull that off as he was starting to stress. I will have to check today to see if that has come off or not. Anyways, last night was the first time he has eaten in a while.

Sometimes it takes a while before they eat when they've moved :3 I've heard of geckos going up to 3 months before touching their food! You could try a bit of different feeders as well, some geckos will only eat a couple of things, others eat everything.

About the shed - do you have a moist hide? Is it on the warm side?

Moist hide is on the warm side. I even increased the temps during the day a bit to keep the humidity even higher. Current ambient humidity is between 50-60%. He has been primarily hanging in the moist hide. Temps in the hide are about 85-88. I think since he hasn't ventured out much yet that is probably why he hasnt shed well because he hasn't been out to rub against anything.

Yeah that sounds probable. Just keep misting his hide every day :3 Younger geckos often have a bit harder time shedding because they don't have "the hang of it" yet. I once watched Donut rub around and try to eat shed for about three hours when he was young. Now he sheds in about 10 minutes :>
