Is she progressing as she should?

So do you think an 11 month old female Leo that is about 8 inches long and has a healthy build and fat tail, (which is slimming down some)who weighs 53 gms (she was 55) is okay eating one big bug every other to every three days? After she gets one bug she loses interest like she doesn't want anymore. She does attack the first one. I try to feed her every day but she won't eat every day some days she just ignores the food and wants back out of her feeder tank. I feed her once a day in a small feeder tank because she doesn't hunt well and I have wondered if she has some vision problems. I feed her dubia roaches and crickets. She doesn't seem to care for meal worms at all. She is very active and healthy. I just think she should eat a little more she seems small to me to be almost a year old. This picture I took this week and it makes her tail look huge. I am not worried because she definitely has plenty of reserves!

I dont think they have a chart that says whats a healthy weight or not, but i do think she looks fine! I recommend feeding her in her home, she will be less stressed out that way. Try putting the dubias on their back on a flat surface, they will struggle to flip back over and will attract your gecko, and they cant crawl away so it makes the hunting easy. Crickets you can pull their back legs off which will slow them down. I wouldnt worry if she slows down, but she is still growing so she could use some more food. Try those methods inside her home and see if she eats more because she is more comfortable. I would offer her food everyday still, but if she rejects it i wouldnt worry. My male is 82 grams at 1 year 3 months, he was 75 at one year with a good body size. Your gecko has a beautiful tail, so you dont need to stress over it. Let her eat what she wants, but I think you should keep offering her food, especially inside her tank.

I have a female that is your LG's age with a inch or more and 15-20 grams on yours and doesnt look as healthy as your LG (More slender and muscular). I would be happy with your gals growth from the picture you posted (especially if that weight was gained from a primarily Dubia diet).

They all grow at different rates. I find mine grow almost an inch and 8-10grams a shed (a month) but obviously that slows down with age. I found around 10-11 months females start to taper off the continuous growth. I also hear that they can still hit big growth spurts up to 18 months? Yours looks healthy when it comes to weight.

I have read tons of charts. Personal Charts, Average Charts, it all seems to differ to me.

As for feeding....My females that are in your LG's age range will eat one good size dubia every other day. Sometimes more. You can tell by their reaction. If they lazily throw their head to the side and take one big dubia with little or no interest I dont push it. If she smashes the Dubia with fervor, then I put another in. Mine is on a 1 1/2 week fast right now.

Good Luck!
