Roaches out-competing Gargoyle?

Whoa, that's a great dubia setup! Thanks for the link. I culled some of the smaller ones and gave them to my leopard gecko who was ecstatic about an extra meal.
Also about the wooden cage, pine and cedar are toxic, so I would try to find some other kind of wood to use for it.
Sorry, I'm unsure what this is in reference to.

Thanks for all the info! I have so many pets right now that require a lot of attention so we won't be getting one until we can dedicate the time to hand taming a tegu. Ideally I'd love a cuddle lizard. :)

I'm in the same boat Yoshi'smom, I have the maximum amount of animals I realistically can care for right now, tegus are definitely worth it though. JessJohnson, gotcha,I was looking at all my cages trying to figure where I had a wooden one haha. I'm not sure what materials yet, I was thinking some kind of particleboard laminate like desk and table tops are made out of, with a plexiglass glass front and vents on the top and sides, but nothing is concrete yet.

Regular glass might be cheaper. I went to price plexi as a second option to a crestie cage if I could not find a tub that I liked, it was more expensive than I thought. One day I'll have a farm with many different types of animals, one day

Isn't that the dream ;)? Another option I have is acrylic, I used to work at petsmart when I was a teen and a couple of my friends did as well. When they discontinued those big plant tanks one of my friends took it home, hoping to use it for propogating coral. Never happened but he did volunteer it to help build Indi's enclosure which would be pretty cool. Its all still in the works and a couple friends are helping me design it so it keeps changing haha.
