How many geckos in a 20 gallon tank

I've seen that sites are saying that you can keep 4 leopard geckos in one tank and I'm not sure if this is true (I'm not going to do it) I just wanted to know if this was true of not.

One adult per 20 gallon is the minimum but there are exceptions with hatchlings and breeders, etc.

I have kept two females in a 20, plenty of hides and I still do plan to separate in the near future.

But usually, one adult.

We as keepers, should never be asking questions like how many fit in X, but rather how big a space can I provide my Gecko, for example.

All Leopard Geckos are much better off housed alone, no exceptions.
