How often should I clean the enclosure?

I have a 7 year old crestie in an 18x18x24 Exo Terra with many fake plants, a resin tree reptile ornament, a lay box, a food ledge, paper towels as substrate, and a coconut hanging hide. I got her in August of 2017 so I am still new to reptiles. I made a post a while ago on another gecko forum about how often to deep clean her enclosure. I got very mixed answers. Some people said every 2 weeks, some people said every 4-6 weeks, someone else said every 4 months, and another person said every 6 months. The tank barely smells unless I literally stick my face in it and take a big wiff. Lol. The tank still looks clean and smells almost like nothing, but should I clean it?
It has been 3 or 4 months since the last deep clean. Previously I used a mixture of hot water and vinegar to clean the tank. Is that what I should use again?
Thanks!
Edit: I did some googling too and found this on Big Apple Herp's website. Is this a reputable website?
"The bedding should be completely thrown out and the entire cage (including all accessories) should be washed with Quat TB Pet Area Cleaner, Deodorizer & Stain Remover or a mild detergent at least once every four to five months."

I find that 4x/year is usually plenty for most gecko enclosures to get deep cleaned. I use the water spots as my warning - when they build up too much, it's time for another deep clean haha.

As long as it is not nasty ... and you have said it isn't ... then a deep clean every 4 months should be fine ... just be sure to keep up on the spot cleaning ....

It can depend on the gecko ... some are just rude in how they treat their tanks LOL
