I’ve owned Memo since September 2017. He’s around 10 months old and weights 7.5 grams. I had a problem with getting him to eat for the first two months of having him that’s why he’s still so little. However he started eating very well in November, he then started eating dusted crickets once a week. The first time I weighted him in November he was only 2 grams, now he is 7.5g and has grew so much! He eats crickets once a week and Pangea for the rest of the week.
Since around a month he started biting my finger if I put it near him or while handling. He’s tamed and doesn’t mind being handled he walks around em and jumps from hand to hand. He bites sometimes when he’s sitting on my hand and if I move my finger a little bit he stares at it the same way he stares at crickets, and then bites.
He isn’t aggressive or stressed he’s a happy little gecko. My question is, is this a stage he’s going through as he’s growing and thinks everything thy moves is food? Sometimes I put some Pangea on the back of a spot and he jumps on it too, it’s not just my fingers or crickets. And if I put my whole hand beside him he won’t bite so I assume it’s just his age and that he is growing? Also will this pass as he gets a little older? The bites don’t hurt however I’m scared that if he surprise bite me I’ll get scared and move my hand or hurt him and I really don’t want that. Any thoughts? Thank you
