Biting her own tail.

One of the GDG's I got last week has lost part of her tail (she was that way when I bought her). Now today I notice that she is licking and biting the tip. Has anyone ever seen that kind of behavior or know what it means?

it probably hurts. I'd watch it very closely for signs of infection, but geckos lose tails and heal OK all the time. if you don't see swelling, redness, or pus, it's ok. you might see some blackening of tissue in the area; watch to make sure the necrosis doesn't spread up the tail.

The end of the tail looks like a pointy nub. The point was not there when I got her, so that says to me it is regenerating.20180620_093951.jpg
