I just received a mail order of dubia roaches on Wednesday.
I bought some dubia roaches, and placed them in the critter box I keep them in. I took two of the largest dubias out, and put them in a smaller container for gut-loading before I feed them to my leo. I went in tonight to feed my leo. I fed him 3 crickets, and then went to grab the two dubias I was gut-loading only to find them dead. This is so weird because I NEVER have dubias die on me. In the container, I gave them diced carrots (which I washed and peeled), and diced apple (which I washed and peeled). I also gave them a bit of Repashy Superload. Anyway, I do this all the time with dubias, but was dumbfounded to find the only two in my gut-load container dead. Interestingly enough, the two roaches I was gut loading were the only larger "oblong" roaches in the bunch.
I can't understand what killed them. I normally don't feed them apples though and was wondering if it's okay to feed them apples. I usually feed them carrots. I have tried giving them broccoli, but they never touch it. I've even tried bananas, but they aren't too interested in them either.
I'd still like to know what killed these two roaches. Normally, I never have them die on me.
