Hi,
I have a 5 year old gecko who eats mealworms and the occasional waxworm as a treat. He refused crickets, silkworms, and hornworms when I first got him as a juvenile. This was the first winter that he really slowed down eating. He used to eat 6 - 10 mealworms every 2 or 3 days. The mealworms were always dusted with calcium and vit D, or multivitamins.
Starting January he would eat maybe a couple of mealworms every 4 or 5 days. He last ate 8 mealworms March 4, and since has refused any food. He had one waxworm March 10 which was regurgitated later. His last couple of sheds he does not take it all off, and I end up giving him a warm water shallow bath to loosen the skin from his toes and under his tail. This is the longest stretch that he has not eaten, and I hope he is still healthy. I enclosed 2 pictures to ask your opinion.
He lives on tile substrate, warm side 90-92 degrees, cool side 78 degrees. He spends most of his time on the warm side.
Thanks for your help!
