golden gecko (pascal)

hi everybody, I'm amy, I am new to this forum. I purchased a golden gecko abut 2 weeks ago. I have read that they are skittish and hate being handled bu I have also read that they can easily become docile and enjoy it. my extended family has a goldie that absolutely loves being handled and actually gets stressed if he is not handled frequently. Pascal, (my goldie) is very wild and was never held before I got her. She is very fast but stresses without touch (goes black, hides, becomes almost lethargic). When I hold her she fights me. She bites, poops, pees and squirms but she is not stressed. Her color is amazing she relaxes quite quickly and when I put her back (i allow her to walk off of my hand) she stays on me for a while and eventually walks off but does not hide, has significantly better color and will watch me follow my voice etc. My question is, am I doing the right thing? After I hold her she is happy, healthy, less stressed and way more active but I cannot help but feel like I am doing something wrong because she fights with me in the beginning. HELP

Holding should be limited as chemicals in your hands can harm or even kill geckos. You can hold her every now and then, but not too often. Look up what to do if you see rashes or red spots developing on your gecko as that may have something to do with frequent holding.
