Update

If you don’t know. I lost a leopard gecko and then found him in my other Leo’s tank a couple of months ago. I posted a bunch of questions and photos about my situation and what to do.
I still have him in the ten gallon as I am still monitoring his progress. But I will be moving him soon! He has been doing amazing, eating well. He has lost that “food aggression” that he had for a little while. And I thought I’d give an update on how he is doing! He is curious about everything and barely gets freaked out by things. Every once in a while I’ll spray his tank because the substrate I use can get dusty, and he comes out to feel the water
He loves to bask in his heat light instead of hiding all the time. He is always watching to see what I am doing. He has made so much progress and I am so happy with it. I don’t know how he didn’t get eaten by my cats or where he hid when he was lost in my house but I am sure grateful that he is alive and is doing well. Here’s a picture of him now:

It's really vital for the safety of your geckos to have each enclosure covered with a properly fitted mesh top!

Did an uncovered enclosure play some role in your leo's escape or recapture?


I'm concerned about the leo you've pictured on this thread. Usually a leo doesn't bend his left front wrist nearly as much as your image shows. I wonder whether this leo has early Metabolic Bone Disease. His right front elbow may be affected as well.

If so, NOW is the time to reverse it. Geckos Unlimited can easily help you with these things. We just need details on his care & supplementation.

Both tanks are covered. The tank without the mesh cover has a cover. It’s just not mesh. And she was walking when I took the picture so her foot is just fine. I promise. I checked her down completely when I saw this message. i appreciate your concern. And he’s always arched his back like that since I got him. I’ve been giving him calcium supplements to see if I can stop it from arching his back. And it hasn’t arched any further.

Are you giving Kaminari vitamin D3 with his calcium or with his multivitamins, not only plain calcium carbonate?

It's important that each tank has some ventilation too.

Thanks so much for your response regarding Kaminari's & Echo' s supplements.
It's important for me to know more details.

Supplement powders vary -- some significantly more than others.
Either 'too much' or 'too little' can cause issues.

Please share the exact name of each supplement + the frequency you use each of them. Are you dusting these supplements on crickets, dubia, worms, or something else?
