Why are Pseudogekko smaragdinus so rare?

Like how is such an amazing looking gecko so rare and I can only find one video from someone who keeps them. They are so expensive too, are they really challenging to breed or something? I saw one going for $750 and a pair for $1,600 on morph. Just curious why?

Most likely due to supply and demand. If some people spend the money to purchase them, breed them and make them more available, the price will come down. This has happened, for example, with a variety of new leopard gecko morphs as well as other types of gecko.
