Ambient temp in the gecko tank?

Hey all,
I can't remember what the ambient temp in the tank is supposed to be...

My Scooby is in his own room - a bedroom used mainly for storage. His tank sits right next to the bedroom door, and we keep the door open ALWAYS; this way he's not alone, and also heat from the hallway can drift into his room, without me actually having to turn the heat on in his room during winter (can't turn it on because of all the storage in that room butting up to the baseboard heaters). The room is comfortable, but of course during the winter, temps drop at night because of the cold outside. Scooby has a nice big UTH that he's fine with. Floor temp is always 91-92°. During the winter though, he often prefers to lay on the floor under a ceramic heat lamp that sits on top his tank screen. He loves this and will sleep under it all night, until it goes off at 6am and his UV light comes on...then he spends his day sleeping in his warm moist hide. BTW, he's not having ANY issues. Anyway, during the winter I place the ceramic heat lamp over towards the cool side, so that it doesn't get too cold over there, which it can. I have a stick-on thermometer on the glass under the ceramic lamp, and the lamp is plugged into a slider switch so I can adjust the temp to cool or warmer, depending on how cold the room feels at night. I check it every night just to make sure he's not overheated in that area of the tank, so he's nice and comfy. He loves it and is adorably splayed out on the floor at night under the lamp.

So, curious, what should the ambient temp be in the tank, as I want to make sure that the ceramic heater is set where I want it for the desired ambient temp. Right now, I've been adjusting it so it's around 75-78°. He seems to be okay with that, but I just want to check.

* I'd put up a cute video of him sleeping under his ceramic lamp, but just found out this website doesn't support videos posted from Rumble.com.
That sucks.

My own practice is that if the ambient temperature is comfortable for humans, it's fine for geckos and if they want it warmer they can go into their warm hides. However, if Scooby likes the UV, then go for it.
