Just Discovered How Cool Lizards Are! Any Tips?

Lately, I’ve been learning about lizards, and wow—they're such amazing creatures! From their colorful patterns to their calm behavior, they seem like the perfect pet for someone who wants something a little different.


I’m still new to all this, so I’m looking for easy-to-understand advice about keeping lizards as pets. Things like:

• Which types of lizards are best for beginners?
• What do they eat?
• How hard is it to take care of them?

If you’ve got a pet lizard or any beginner tips, I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to share pictures too I’d love to see your setups.

Where do you live? Your location sometimes impacts what sources are available for lizard supplies.
There are many sorts of lizards!

Since 1988 I've ONLY kept geckos.

Please check out leopard geckos (Eublepharis macularius).
Leopard geckos are easy to keep & feed.
Leopard geckos either eat LIVE crickets & sometimes LIVE roaches.
Dust with Zoo Med's supplements on a regular basis. I can share more info about supplements if you wish.
Leopard geckos should always have a dish of fresh water nearby.
