Can CGD be stored already made?

I sometimes go one little family vacations and have people feed my animals. The thing is I don't want these people to have to mix my CGD. Can I mix it with water and put it in an airtight container in my fridge and store it that way, or does it go bad? Thanks.

yes you can store it in the fridge in a baby food jar. however it don't last long. i use to make a weeks worth and use that. it worked well because the stuff was already "jelled" and i didn't have to wait and mix.

One problem. From what I understand freezing the CGD causes a lot of the good stuff (vits and such) in it to stop working the same. Flash freezer will work but not many people have them.

Well, ok, but do I really need to freeze it? If I seal it in an airtight container, won't just refrigeration work? The most we are ever gone for is a week and sometimes we aren't even gone for that long. usually just a weekends, so I'd be making on small serving and keeping it in the fridge. As long as the water doesn't evaporate off, I'd assume it would be fine.

I keep mine in the frig for 7 days in a Tupperware container.

Is it Hildes recipe that you are talking about Nate? I don't think she uses CGD but its been a while since I used that one. I tried that recipe at one point and my geckos would not eat it. But I think its because they were raised on CGD and they just did not want to switch. This is the one that I'm talking about. A lot of geckos like it.
