It's fine. I use rep-cal with no d3, and rep-cal with d3. No d3 goes in the calcium dish. I've never used Flukers, but it's a trustable brand.

I feed my crickets Flukers Orange Cube Complete Cricket Diet. Does that provide my gecko with enough calcium? I thought it did but I've been reading about people dusting the crickets before you feed them to the gecko. I've had my guy for almost 2 years and he has grown beautifully and is a good size without me dusting his crickets. But I am wondering if it would be better for him if I begin to dust them.

Any input?

I use the orange cubes, AND I dust. I dust with calcium (twice a week for under 30g leos) once a week, and vitamins (twice a week " " 30g ") once a week.

Hyposhawn, out of no disrespect to you, you do give a lot of advice that isn't 100% accurate. If you state "in my opinion" on your post, it may help some people out, and calm down the tension, and prevent people from taking "your" advice as 100% by the book.

Just going to name some brands that I personally trust:

Zoo Med Repti-Calcium (Comes in pure and with D3)
Rep-Cal (No D3, Pure)

T-rex I think is another brand I have used, personal favorite is Rep-Cal.

Geckos can OD on D3, as can humans, and all other animals. It's just a preventative measure when using without d3 in the cage, and d3 on your feeders.

You don't need both. Allee's saying that if you wanted to keep calcium in the tank you should get it without D3. But for dusting crickets I recommend using a little D3. So if your not putting calcium in the tank than get the calcium with D3.

You do need both. Some leos need more calcium than others, I have a few who lick at the calcium dish constantly. If it had d3 in it, they'd OD. It's the same thing that every experienced owner will tell you. Without D3 in the tank in a milk cap, with D3 on dusting feeders.

Calcium dishes are a must in the tank, hyposhawn. If you plan on breeding, and DON'T have a calcium dish, you'll end up with weak eggs, and weak mommies from not getting enough pure calcium.

I dust the crickets with d3 once a week and I just recently bought Vitamins that I dust once a week also. Can I put d3 calcium in the tank for them to eat? They don't lick it a lot. I have it in right now.

Okay, everyone, I keep repeating myself.

Calcium without D3 goes IN the tank.
Calcium with D3 should be dusting your feeders (personally I dust once a week for adults, every other feeding for juvies/babies)
Multivitamins (I personally dust once a week for adults, and every other feeding for juvies /babies aka the days I don't use calcium)

Get it? I hope I'm clear. Everyone dusts their feeders differently, this is just how I do it.
