Sexing Pea**** day geckos

I'm getting some P. quad quad's and I don't know how to sex them. These will be my first day geckos. From what I know with other geckos, the males will have pours above their 'vent'.

So, yeah. How do you sex these guys!?

If you're getting your first day geckos, I recommend picking up a book on them. There is "Day Geckos in Captivity" by Leann and Greg Christenson, and "The General Care and Maintenance of Day Geckos in Captivity" by Sean McKeown. Both are good and explain how to tell sex.

Oh really? I may beheading out to 'cowtown' sometime soon; not sure though. When do you think people would be willing to ship? Are there any available in Calgary right now? My mom is there and I could ask her so snatch me up a couple females (if they are available, that is).

J&j reptiles has some, and I may have a friend with some, not sure if they're sexed yet. I'd probably wait till april or later to be on the safe side, or make a trip here for x-mas- to see your mom of cource!

Thanks, I'll try to get ahold of that. I just orders two good Phelsuma books with my LLLReptile order. I also have a general gecko book with a Phelsuma section.
