Im Worried!

Gecko Buddy

So I have had my leapard gecko for about 4 years, and I never knew that you needed a shed box for them, but in the past she always seemed to shed jsut fine. But, in her last shed, she has been unable to shed completely, she has skin on all of her legs and on the left side of her face, so I looked up what I could do and found out about the shed box, so I just made one, but since she has never used one, will she even use it and if not what are the dangers to her not shedding her skin. PLEASE HELP!

give her a bath to loosen the stuck shed and remove with a q tip rolling gently. (this should be done in something like an old tuperware container and the water should go to about half way up her body max water should be room temp nothing hotter)

As mentioned above, a soak in some warm water will help. And if you make her a humid hide, even though she's not used to having one, she should be able to figure out how to use it. No need to panic, one bad shed isn't the end of the world.

enclosure with a substrate that can retain some moisture so the box has a higher humidity. Which softens the shed skin.

couldn't find a good video for ya on youtube but here ya go YouTube - Shed Box (nothing but kids with annoying voices or just poorly shot videos)

on a side note before I got rid of my Anoles (not sure why i got them in the first place) my female had her head shed and was getting the rest of it off she got onto a branch was hanging by her tail bite off some shed on her tail yanked most of the shed off and fell off the branch. It was funny. (got rid of them because the male was getting on my nerves always got out when i was trying to clean the tank and took forever to track down [no they weren't my first reptiles] and my female wouldn't eat unless he was in the tank)
