I know I dont have a calcium dish and a humid hide but im getting them tomorrow. Any constructive criticism would be great. I will also try and get better pics. I also have some mardels herpcare cricket dust, could I use that in the calcium dish. Can anyone tell me the morph? Im thinking tremper albino or bell albino? correct me if im wrong. She has solid eyes, blue eye shadow, white tail with spots.

What are you using as a substrate?
I am glad you made up your mind about getting a leo. They make lovely pets.
If you need any advice don't hesitate to ask.

Like houseape said I am using repti-carpet. Im glad I got a leo to, im trying very hard not to hold it for a couple days:D. I do have one question could I make the see through cave a humid hide and a normal one? like putting a wet paper towel on the top and leaving the bottom dry?

One thing to keep your eyes out for with the repti-carpet is that the leos can get their claws (and sometimes teeth) caught in it. I'm not telling you not to use it. But do be aware of the potential hazards of it.

@ Gecko Love, I just use paper towels. They are great, I did use sand, but one of my leo's became impacted no matter how much calcium I fed her or offered her in a dish. She had surgery, and has not fully recovered yet, and this was about 4 month ago.

yes i have noticed that already when she catches crickets, she like rips the carpet out. I will be switching to probably slate once i get a bigger tank.

Congrats ! Love your leo and take care as mush as possible and i tell you , You will be rewarded. You willl have a healthy Leo so it will look nice , It will grow fast ( TOO FAST ! ) and really adorable. Mine is now at the point that i just put my hand in the terrarium and she wants to be picked up :) I can now also pet her head wich was impossible before.
Good luck :)

I did not rush any of the steps. Only took her once in a while and for short period of times at first. When she calmed down a little , I let her walk around on me and on my bed with extreme supervision. Not letting her go too far. Its been almost a year that i have her now and she just enjoy getting picked up. She understand that my hand is the only exit to her terrarium and i will let her explore a little of my house. I rarely take her outside my bedroom but when i do she simply sit on my shoulder and look around curiously.

The faster way to get your gecko like being handeled is to take your time and do every steps when they need to be done and not before. Rushing any steps will simply slow down the process.
