background safe?

I made a background out of styrofoam and i have it grouted already but no paint or sealer. Is it safe to put in my tank?

Depends on the type of grout, etc. Some of that kind of stuff can off gas for a long time. Not to mention it's not all waterproof. Some of it needs to be coated.

its polyblend sanded grout, its been airing out for 5 days now, why would it need to be water proof? its going into my leopard gecko tank

Riverside probably just mentioned that in case you where using it in a tropical or damper set up.

i think it's safe as long as it's not like drenched. my leo is in a grout tank and he's doing fine.

put layers of grout or concrete or wutever ur gonna use. u cant just use foam

like pour water over it it alot and get it completely wet.

o, I wont be doing that. little pieces still fall off though what if the gecko licks it and eats it?

really mine doesn't really do that i have like 6 or 5 coats on with sand mixed in though. if you like hit it it will break but nothing just falls off.
