I personally dont worry about my humid level. My gecko has access to a humid hide 24/7, and i know that its more humid than the ambient air, but Im not concerned with levels.
If you are concerned, more power to you, but ive been told on many cases it doesnt matter as long as you offer humidity.

I don't bother checking the ambient humidity either. There's a humid hide, moistened daily, the rest of the enclosure is the same as whatever the house is at. In winter it's a bit lower, because winter temperatures and the furnace heating cause it to be lower, but I do know it's generally around 25-35%. In summer the ambient humidity is naturally higher, varies with rain or dry spells.
They're okay with the general house humidity that's available, the hide box is there if they need it higher.

My skin has gotten drier as winter goes on, so i know my house humidity is low, but i believe that is why Gaz is constantly in his moist hide. They know if they need to be more humid, so they can decide when to go into their humid hide, kind of like the way they transfer from the warm side to cool side if they feel the need. Gaz is usually never in his warm hide like he was when i first got him a month ago, at first I keep asking myself why, but I think its because my house humidity levels dropped. So they know how to maintain themselves in that aspect.

Thats what's struck me. This month and next month are our cold months this year and my skin is dry so I gave in and gave her a humid hide with ambient humidity at 40%.View attachment 33793
