    Pairing up P.guimbeaui

I recently introduced a young male P.guimbeaui to an older female. She is between 2 and 3 years old. She is very docile and hand tame. The male is around a year old, maybe a little older. He is about an inch longer, but not nearly as much girth as her. He has been bullying her a little. I...

    P.v-nigra v-nigra

Does anyone out there keep/breed P. v-nigra v-nigra? I have been looking for a male and cant seem to find anyone who currently keeps this species. I have some Uroplaus/Phelsuma that I would possibly trade for a male...or just buy outright. Thanks Joe

    P.v-nigra v-nigra

Hey guys! I was wondering who is breeding P.v-nigra v-nigra these days. I have two adult females and think it would be a shame for me not to breed them. The one female is an extremely nice specimen and rivals pictures of most of the males that i have seen. The first pic is when she was around...

    Zombie Alligators/Paralysis/Lake Griffin-Florida

Hey Guys, I watched a special on Nat Geo Wild, Discovery Channel, titled Zombie Alligators. It highlights an epidemic amongst a wild population of alligators within lake Griffin, Florida. Alligators were showing signs of paralysis and neurological defects. Commonly crawling...

    Doubts he's a U.sameiti...

Originally I figured that this Uroplatus was a sameiti because he was obviously not sikorae. But since December, he has not stopped growing and has a voracious appetite for a male. He is currently around 8.5 inches long and narrowly built...kinda like a cross between lineatus and henkeli. His...

    overweight pietschmanni?

I remember one of the pietschmanni breeders mentioning not over feeding females... I was curious if that was a problem with this species in particular. Also, have any of you breeders had problems with overweight females. My female is always starving and she puts on weight too. I feed her two...

    pietschmanni mites...

When I received my cork barks in December, they had a few tiny red mites...so I picked them off with modified forceps. I have picked off one or two since then, but today...I picked off almost 2 dozen between the both of them. I guess it would be good practice to check over your geckos with...

    sameiti max legnth?

For those of you who have kept U.sameiti, or witnessed first hand...what legnth do they max out at. I had a female in the past, but she had a regenerated tail that never fully developed after 3 years or so. I have a male right now that was at 7 inches in January when I aquired him, but is now...

    Male klemmeri slipping

I have dealt with many Phelsuma for years...but this if my first full breeding season with P.klemmeri. My female produced 3 fertile clutches this season, and is doing fine. I noticed that my male had been having a hard time keeping his grip on the snake plants. He has exaggerated calcium...

    P.madagascariensis

This is a female that I aquired last summer from Jon Boone. I used to breed them around 16 years ago, but got away from the species. I wanted to get back into them because they have such great personalities. I posted a wanted ad a couple weeks back on GU, looking for a male P.madagascariensis...

    Female henkeli necropsy

This is a WC female henkeli that I have had for a little over 3 years. She was a good breeder and produced many offspring. I believe that the 10.0 UV light I had on her hurt her...but not as much as the light hurt the CB adult pair that I had raised myself. The CB adult female's one eye was...

    U.sameiti male

this guy was a mistake, but a good mistake ;-). He was supposed to be a U.sikorae...but he is a real nice specimen, so i am happy. I have had him since January and he is doing well... but I am not sure if I want to look for a female. I was wondering what the frequency of sameiti is with...

    Small lumps/nudules behind front legs?

I have noticed small lumps/nudules behind the front legs on the body of my henkels, corkbarks, and sikorae. They seem to swell and shrink slightly. I am guessing that they are some kind of vitamin/fat storage, but not sure exactly what they are. Anyone know what they are.

    Fresh imports...

In the past, I have had pretty good luck with freshly imported Uroplatus... But I was just curious if anyone has had consistent success with fresh imports...particularly Satanics and Corkbarks. One thing I have noticed with the Satanics is that they grow quite fond of Bromeliads/Bromeliaceae...
