I got the duty of eggwatching while Josh was out of town and this little guy hatched out 2 days ago.
Sorry the pics aren't that good but you get the idea.
Just thought I would post a few pics of a few of my boas. alot of people have never seen these guys before. They have some pretty wild looking heads.
This is candoia bibroni Australis(Solomon Island tree boa)
This is candoia carinata carinata(indonesian tree boa Waigeo Island locale)...
I introduced my leachies today and was very nervous about it. My male is quite abit bigger than the female and I was afraid he would hurt her. To my suprise I walked in to check them and he was in full mount with a mouth full of neck. :o Now he's licking himself back in place. LOL.
Ijust tried putting my male and female together for the first time. It was very interesting to see the reaction of the male. He was very alert with alot of tongue flicking. When they finally came face to face he began this loud clucking sound and flinching his body. She began wiggling her...
This was a long project. Cleaning the old stuff out and redecorating.
I put a nice big cork hollow in and he didn't give it a second look. Lol. Money well spent.
I just got this young pair recently. I hope they'll be big enough in the Spring. These are daytime colors.
The male( great orange)
The female (nice red)
I just recently started keeping african cichlids. Started off as for my wife and has evolved into us. lol.
astatotilapia latifasciatus
2 melanochromis johanni (my favorite)
and some pseudotropheus
and the tank
There are a few other cichlids in there also. We also have a ten gallon...
Just wondering if anyone else is interested in the Ultimate fighting championships. I've been watching since UFC 1. It's addictive. If so who are your favorite fighters? I think I would have to go with Chuck Liddell and Matt Hughes. I think Nathan has gotten addicted to it also.
I was starting to get very impatient with these guys. I was getting close to artificially insemenating! lol !! Now if I can get the other pair going we'll be in good shape. :)
Between the ciliatus, levis and mitratus it is beginning to be a good season for us. Just getting started a little...
I just got this guy. He's a 2yr.old what I would consider somewhat a crowned crested. He definitely has a larger head and temporal crests. They hang down somewhat. I'd never seen one of these in person until a friend got it in at his store and i had to have it to add to the collection. He was...
I just got this female nu Ami-nu Ana cross. She[ is currently 78grams and 8 1/2inches total length. Couldn't pass her up. She has some chewed up spots on her head from her former cagemate but should go away with a few sheds. She's approx. 2yrs.old
I hope to breed her to my male when...
I was wondering how people feel about hybrids. I saw the crested/chahoua hybrid and had a mixed reaction about it. I think it is a very nice looking animal but on the other hand it is now a mutt (pardon the term). It really no longer fits in either species of rhacodactylus. I wonder how...
Hahaha came home today and found fimbriatus eggs first then 3 hatchling cresteds and then to top it off our first pair of levis eggs. What a way to come home from work. lol. :D
I thought i would try my hand at a naturalistic vivarium for some dart frogs. Right now we have two metallic green arutus and one azeurus. Hope you like.
I was just wondering if you guys feed your coleonyx anything other than crickets and how often you supplement. So far i've only been feeding mine 1/3 grown crickets and dusting with calcium every other feeding. I don't think that mitratus can take bigger than a 1/3 but let me know if i'm...
I don't know about you guys but i'm getting the aching to get out and do some herping. I just came back in from a spot close to the house to see how it looks. Alot of land development in my area. It was still intact and swampy. There were some signs of reptiles on the move.... roadkill - 2...
I just got bored with the digital camera and thought I'd post some pics of our racks.. We have tanks all over the house but this is the main room. We're currently working on building a 240sq.ft room on to the house just for our reptile collection.
