    Coleonyx reticulatus

Hello everyone! I am planning a trip to Big Bend National Park next June and am looking for suggestions. I would really like to find some Texas Banded Geckos (Coleonyx brevis) and Reticulated/Big Bend Banded Geckos (Coleonyx reticulatus). I am sure I won't have trouble finding C. brevis but I...

    Borrego Hatchlings

Not sure if the term "borrego phase" is valid or not, but I wouldn't want to call them pure Cvv. Hatched yesterday. The mother was abberant and so is one of the offspring. :D If anyone knows anything about the purity of the geckos from borrego, please let me know.. Also, did anyone see the...

    Is this normal? (pic)

:? Pic is pretty much self explanatory as to what the egg did but does this mean it is hatching? They have only been incubating since July 4th. Do you think it will be ok? The substrate isn't too wet, so it shouldn't be bloated. Maybe the cat is just so big that the eggshell tore.. lol

    Need a little help...

I have about $1500 to spend on a nice slr digital camera. I am leaning towards Nikon D70 or D50. What lenses should I get to go with it. I would like a good macro lens. Is the tamron 90mm good? What else would I need to go with it? External Flash? Ring Flash? I know its a lot of questions, but...

    Stick Insects as Feeders

I have a colony of 200-300 Indian stick insects and I was wondering if they can be used as feeders. They are small enough to be fed to hatchling coleonyx (1/4 of an inch long at hatching) and large enough to make a good meal for a leachie (6 inches long at adulthood). Does anyone know the...

A few questions about C. elegans.

I just got a pair of striped C. elegans and I have a few questions. Could someone post a pic of healthy C. elegans? I am not sure how much fat is supposed to be stored in the tail, but there is a big difference between the male and the female. The male isn't eating anything and is less active...

    Semi Arborealness

I was just wondering if anyone has experienced arborealness in their neonate Coleonyx. This is the fist year I gave the hatchlings natural enclosures right out of the egg and they all seem to enjoy climbing thin twigs. Thanks
