    New thermometer

I got this zoo med digital thermometer. I stuck in the middle of the glass on the hot side under the 75 watt basking bulb i have. The top temperature read, 77.8!, how is that possible when my analog thermometer reads 84. I'll admit, my analog is probably wrong, and where i live its still winter...

    A slight unusual behavior

So my gecko pretty much slept all day outside of her rock in the light, then she went in her moist hide and has been hiding in there since 2 pm. I turned of the day light and turned on the red nighttime heat lamp, and she is still in her moist hide. I know there nocturnal and come out during the...

    Got some new stuff

Well i purchased some wax works and giant meal worms, you should only give leos wax worms like once a week right? because they are high in fat and should only be offered as a treat right?

    Humid Hide suggestions

So for my humid hide im using sphagnum moss which seems to be working, so far no mold yet, and i keep it somewhat in the middle between both cold and hot sides and my leopard gecko tends to go in there once in awhile, but i've heard of people using coco fiber as a substrate and i just want to...

    another light?

Now that i have a much bigger vivarium, the only day time light i have is a 75 watt basking bulb over the rock in which my gecko sleeps under with the under tank heater beneath. Should I invest in another day time bulb to get exactly 1/2 of the tank heated?

    Some good news!

Well i finally got a 20 gallon long tank for my gecko!:yahoo:, she seems love the extra space, i mean theres so much extra space for her to move around compared to a 10 gallon tank haha. She can now live comfortably for the remainder of her life. I want to get a male for her at some point...

    uh oh, another shed!

Well my gecko's body has turned all white and im pretty sure shes basking in the light to get her head the same amount as white as her body so she can shed her entire body at once. I just re-sprayed her humid hide completely, knowing that she is in the shedding process, do you think she will...

I got this pretty cool exo terra gecko cave in which i use for a humid hide, i put Spahngum moss in it as substrate. id say my leopard gecko is a week and half away from shedding again, but she seemed to go in the humid hide before time. Is it because she wants to hydrate her skin, or is she...

    Great news

Well back to the lighting situation i had yesterday, i went and exchanged the 200 watt light to a 75 watt light and the temperature seems to stay at steady 91 degrees which is very good! My gecko doesnt seem to be bothered by it, and actually likes to just chill outside of its rock and bask...

    Proper lighting for leos

I just recently purchased a 100 watt basking bulb for my leopard gecko, which is in a 10 gallon tank. She seemed a lot more active when the heat rose, and i was quite happy to see her like that. But i'm a little afraid to leave the light unattended due to the excessive heating, it reached 95...
