Hello Nathan, well i use UVB for my Strophurus and i can only prefer it, because the most Strophs are Sun Baskers and when i observate them when i use my UVB Bulb, then i see them enjoing it. Also i use the possibility to let them bask outside, when the Sun allows it at my area.

Well, I completely redesigned my Strophurus set-ups. They ALL now have UVB. If it doesn't do any good, oh well. The Strophs look so much better under UVB. I still believe that UVB is a more "natural" source of D3. I've had gout problems with some of my ciliaris due to the stagnant gene pool. I know gout is a uric acid build up. The juveniles get a drop of calcium glubionate every couple of weeks. The UVB should help with the uptake of the concentrated calcium. We shall see.

i always gave my strophs UV lighting. I feel that any animal that basks naturally in the wild will most definitely benefit from UVB in captivity, nocturnal or otherwise.

Here is a completed row of hatchling Strophurus set-ups. Although the tops are plastic, plenty of UVB penetrates the enclosures.
